2.1 Flickr

Flickr.com is a free service website that allows people to post their photos on the site and allow their friends and family to see their pictures. Anybody can use flickr for free and can post as many photos as they want (with some limitations on the bandwidth). The site allows people to customize their pictures and categorize them to make it easier to find them, whether for themselves or others.

Ludicorp, a company in Vancouver, Canada, created flickr.com and it was later bought by Yahoo!,and because Flickr is free, revenue from ads placed by Yahoo! allow the website to offer its free services without consequence.

OpenID allows people who use Flickr to use the same userID and password for other sites that are part of the OpenID projects. Blogger.com is an example of another website part of the OpenID project, so users would use the same userID and password for both sites.
