3.2 Business Case

Faith:  "I don't have all the details to how this information system works, but I do know that if you agree to use this, I promise you that this will help your pizza shop keep up with the recorded sales so your business will continue to receive the praise it already has. I know my opinion sounds childish, but I promise you, you will not regret this.

Fear:  "Without this information systems, there is a possibility that our computers will miss or not have at all any record of our products being sold and that will mean we made money by practically selling nothing at all. If we don't have this system, other problems could also occur that could spell trouble for the shop and we will have no choice but to close it down.

Fact: "This information system is guaranteed to accurately keep track of all our sales each year and it has a 75% chance of not having any errors that could ruin the recorded data. It will have to be updated from time to time, but this will increase our data processing by 15%.

3.1 Value Chain Analysis/Information System use

Transaction Processing System-Each product sold at the pizza is recorded
each day in the cash register computers that are connected to a network.

Management information systems-Keep track of all supplies, from ingredients to cleaning equipment in order to prevent spending on supplies already bought.

Executive information systems-Will keep manager updated of any needed supplies, maintenance reports, or needed computer updates.

Geographical information system-Needed to establish any new stores in the state to increase business production.

2.2 Automobile Industry

As globalization expands, the auto industry has attempted to create a world car that can be sold all over the world begins to "flatten" and national markets are starting to disappear. However, because of cultural tastes and economic status, the "world car" has yet to be used worldwide. Still, the auto industry has been able to expand as plants from America are moved to foreign countries and the Internet has allowed auto sales to increase.

1. How is Globalization 3.0 fueling change in the auto industry? Outsourcing and supply chaining has allowed the auto industry to benefit from increased sales and production.

2. Examine how cultural differences make it difficult to create a world car. People in different countries have different tastes in how cars are made and each country have different economic standards in terms of fuel.

2.1 Flickr

Flickr.com is a free service website that allows people to post their photos on the site and allow their friends and family to see their pictures. Anybody can use flickr for free and can post as many photos as they want (with some limitations on the bandwidth). The site allows people to customize their pictures and categorize them to make it easier to find them, whether for themselves or others.

Ludicorp, a company in Vancouver, Canada, created flickr.com and it was later bought by Yahoo!,and because Flickr is free, revenue from ads placed by Yahoo! allow the website to offer its free services without consequence.

OpenID allows people who use Flickr to use the same userID and password for other sites that are part of the OpenID projects. Blogger.com is an example of another website part of the OpenID project, so users would use the same userID and password for both sites.

The 3 jobs of the Organizational Chart

All three jobs for the Organizational Chart are important. Maintenance and Support helps its customers who have problems with their computers if viruses, freezing, or other problems occur. Development is needed so computers can be put to use in the world by installing data and making the hardware and software. All three of these fields are watched over by the Chief Information Officer, who makes sure everything is going smoothly.
